Frequently Asked Questions

How long and how frequent are EMDR therapy sessions?

EMDR Therapy sessions last for one hour with subsequent sessions lasting 50 minutes.

While most patients engage in weekly therapy… after your initial session I will provide a treatment plan frequency that will help you reach your health goals.

Do you accept insurance?

I currently participate with a few major insurance providers for mental health therapy. If I am not in network with yours I do provide a superbill after each visit that you can submit to your insurance company to receive out of network benefits if you have them.

Neurofeedback is a separate program and not covered by insurance.

What are out of network benefits?

Out-of-network benefits let you pick therapists who aren’t tied down by your insurance provider’s network. This means you get to choose who you see based on how you connect with them, not just who’s in your insurance network.

You pay the therapist directly, and then your insurance company reimburses you based on your coverage.

Why go out of network?

Choosing an out-of-network therapist simply means you have more options at your fingertips. It's about widening your pool of choices so you can find a therapist who fits with your personal needs and therapy goals.

How do I get reimbursed from my insurance company?

If you are feeling a bit unsure about handling claims and payments – Here’s a breakdown to keep things super simple:

  • Check what’s covered: A quick call to your insurance provider will clarify what your plan allows.
  • Pay your therapist: You handle this upfront, just like any other appointment.
  • Submit a claim: I’ll give you all the paperwork you need to claim back what you’re owed.
  • Get your money back: Your insurance will send you a reimbursement based on the terms of your plan."

When is payment due?

Payment is due at time of service.

Detailed receipts (superbills) can be provided each month for you to submit for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company directly for estimated therapeutic out of network benefits.

How much do sessions cost?

EMDR Intake session (60 minutes) – $150

EMDR Subsequent sessions (50 minutes) – $150

EMDR Intensive Therapy (half day) – $500

EMDR Intensive Therapy (full day) – $1000

At Home Neurofeedback Therapy – $300 for the training device. $600/month for the brain map, training design and monitoring with two week check ins via email. 3 month minimum.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, check, major credit cards, or HSA cards are accepted. Payment is due at the time of service. A credit card is required to remain in your file.

How can I afford therapy without my insurance?

Many individuals find the quality of personalized care they receive makes up for the upfront costs. They are able to get better results - faster. Ultimately, saving them from wasted time and money with less skill and specialized providers.

Is it hard to submit claims?

Submitting claims is not as complicated as it sounds. It’s as easy and mailing a letter to your insurance company - and I provide you with all the documentation you need. Often the superbills can be submitted right on the insurance portal.

Does it take a long time to get reimbursed?

Waiting for reimbursement can feel a bit daunting. To help ease this concern, I can guide you through setting up a smooth process with your insurance, and we can explore tools that speed up the claim review. Remember, most clients find that the wait is a small trade-off for the right therapeutic fit and the benefits that follow.

What if I have to cancel?

There is a strict 24-hour cancellation policy.

If you need to cancel your appointment, please call, text or email me 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.

If 24 hours is not given… the full session fee will be charged to your credit card on file. Exceptions are rare due to the nature of your protected appointment time and service. Repeated offenses may result in termination of care.

Can we communicate via text messages?

Texting is not a confidential form of communication. However, texting may be used for non-confidential information such as scheduling and weather updates. Please call with anything confidential in nature. Email is great for appointment changes and non-confidential updates.

Your privacy is important!
